Tip: Tankless Water Heater over Conventional Gas Fired Water Heater

A question commonly asked in the heating & plumbing field, is why choose a tankless water heater over the conventional gas fired storage water heater.

4 things to think about when choosing a high efficiency tankless water heater:

  1. Tankless Water Heaters operate at over 90% efficiency which means they use 90% of that natural gas to heat the water very efficiently; whereas traditional water storage tanks are closer to 80%.
  2. Another feature of the high efficiency condensing water heater is they modulate; so if you only have one faucet running for example; it will modulate down and won't fire at full capacity for even better fuel savings.
  3. The storage tank of a tankless water heater uses up much more room in your basement whereas the high efficiency models typically hang on your wall are not much bigger thank a suitcase. That frees up your room much more for storage which means less clutter.
  4. Lastly it's all about the environment. The high efficiency tankless water heaters only fire when they are using domestic hot water; they don't need to fire throughout the night to keep a big storage tank warm; so it uses less energy again and that's better for the environment.

Fernace hose replacement

10

Two years ago, I had a brand new furnace put into my basement. I recently found out my furnace was leaking small amounts of water into my basement. I asked my friend who works in plumbing to recommend me someone, and he told me about Hoerner Heating and Plumbing. I had them replace my furnace's hose, which was causing the leak. They were very friendly too.
